Do you celebrate Solstice? I do. We do. We gather with friends for the annual Solstice @ 3024. The tables in every room are laden with all manner of food. My favorites were the Caviar pie, calamata tapanade, swedish meatballs to name a few. The kitchen counters and table overflowed with all the shared byobs of wine, liquors, beer and a little of the hard stuff.
This is without a doubt the best
party of the year. An eclectic mix of people young and old; from the arts (theater actors, directors, managers, etc. working artists, writers, journalists); and various mainstream professions. The conversations were the kind that wake up you brain and bring a alertness to the days that follow.
I got home around 2am and briefly visited my altar before heading to bed. Earlier that evening I posted this on Instagram:
Sun has set and before heading out to a Winter Solstice @ 3024 party, I’ve lit the candles on my altar as well as one in every room. That done I recite my annual invocation and release it to the ether**
Winter Solstice is my time to contemplate the past year; celebrate my successes; glean a lessons from my failures; and set a few goals, née, resolutions, for the year ahead.
I am one with the uni verse – See me.
Let me slip easily into the stream of time – Hear me.
Let me acknowledge my past, and accept my now – Help me.
Let me see in dream a little of my path ahead – Grant me.
That given time to contemplate, I may make better choices – Guide me.
As I give myself up to the ‘I am’ and slip into dream. Protect me.
So mote it be.
Later y’all.
